Below are your final instructions for the 2023 Gold Country Half Marathon, 5k and Kids K Presented by Marshall Medical Center. We are thrilled to welcome you out to beautiful Town Center in El Dorado Hills and are excited to host our Half Marathon distance for the first time since 2019! The weather looks like it will be beautiful for our races and the finish festival featuring an extensive Health Expo hosted by Marshall Medical Center, live music and a free beer for participants 21 and over!

RACE DAY INFORMATION
HALF MARATHON
This race has a start time of 7:00 am and official course services outside of Town Center will cease after 3 hours (13:44 /mile pace).
The Gold Country Half Marathon course starts with an initial smaller loop around the movie theatres and then comes back through the start line going the opposite direction and proceeds to one larger counterclockwise loop in Town Center (totaling approximately 3 miles) before heading out for a scenic 4.5 mile out and back on Silva Valley Road. Please run on the right side of the designated street / pathways once you start the out and back portion. The course will be well marked, but we ask that you review the course map [here]. Please note that runners will enter a bike / walking path on the East side of Silva Valley at the Harvard intersection and continue until Appian Way. Runners will re-enter Silva Valley Parkway at Appian Way and continue to the turnaround point. The final three miles of the course are slightly downhill and quick with a finish on Town Center Blvd. Please note the markers along the course and follow the instructions of our course monitors.
There will be aid stations distributing water, Nuun hydration and minor medical supplies at the following mile markers:
Mile 1 / 2.5
Mile 4 / 11.5
Mile 7 / 9 Gels will be available at this aid station
5K EVENT
This race has a start time of 8:00 am and a one-hour course cut-off time (19:21/mile pace).
The 5K course starts with an initial smaller loop around the movie theatres and then comes back through the start line going the opposite direction. Runners will then do a larger counterclockwise loop that includes a short out and back on White Rock Road making it a great event for participants and spectators alike! Runners will pass through an aid station at 1 mile and then at the finish line
*Notes to runners:
1) Runners who fall behind pace may be asked to move to the sidewalk by race staff, as the roads must be reopened at these times. This is for the safety of our participants. Runners who do not finish within the cut-off time should not expect on-course support (medical, aid stations, course marshals) and may not receive an official finish time.
2) 5K Elite runners should go to the front of the start line. There will not be a separate Elite start time.
KIDS K EVENT
The Kids K will start at 9:00 am. The course is one loop around the south side of Town Center Lake, finishing right in the Finish Festival Amphitheater where spectators can cheer on all the kids as they sprint across that finish line. All finishers will receive a medal and a round table achievement award that can be redeemed for a one topping personal pan pizza from Round Table Pizza in Town Center!

Age Group Awards (First through third place): 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+
5K:
Gold Country Run + Sport and Altra are pleased to bring back the 5K elite race with the following overall awards for Male and Female finishers:
First Place – $250 and free pair of Altra Running Shoes
Second Place – $100
Third Place – $50
5K Age Group Awards (First place): 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+
Overall AWARDS will be presented at 9:15 am after the conclusion of the Kids K. Age group awards will also be available at the Gold Country Run + Sport tent after the conclusion of the overall awards.
FINISH FESTIVAL
Please join us for a fun-filled finish festival and an extensive health fair presented by Marshall Medical Center! Marshall will be offering blood pressure checks, blood glucose checks, BMI, Tanita, cancer screening information, consult with a physician, hands only CPR, and foam roller stretching with PT experts!
Enjoy the beautiful grounds of Town Center, live music from Bahena and a beer garden provided by Brickyard Counter & Bar, including one free beer for all participants 21 and over. Brickyard will also be serving brunch and have their restaurant and full bar open – you will not want to miss out on the incredible food and atmosphere during and after the finish festival winds down!

9:00 am – Kids K Race Start
9:15 am – Ceremony for overall winners, age group awards available after conclusion at GCRS tent
11:30 am – Finish Festival Closes – Please feel free to remain at Brickyard Counter and Bar!
PACKET PICK-UP & LATE REGISTRATION DETAILS
Save race morning time and stress! We highly encourage all participants to pick up their race packet on Saturday, before race day.

PACKET PICK-UP DETAILS
- Photo ID is NOT required to pick up a runner’s bib.
- You ARE allowed to pick up other runners’ race packets.
- If you are planning to pick up a friend’s packet, please be aware that you will need to go to the line designated with the first letter of the friend’s last name to do this.
- Double-check your bib!
- Make sure the information on your bib label is correct (name and birthdate). There could be someone else with the same name which is why it is always good to double check the birth date listed on your bib.
LATE REGISTRATION
Have any friends or family who haven’t registered yet? No problem! Late registration will be available (both in-person at packet pick-up and online) until the start of the race.
Reminders:
- If your shirt size was not available when you registered and you did not select an alternate size, we will contact you if we are able to get additional shirt in your desired size.
OTHER IMPORTANT DETAILS
EVENT PARKING
Parking will be available anywhere in the Town Center not directly in the path of the race course.
GEAR CHECK
Due to ample street parking in the vicinity of the start and finish lines, there will be NO gear check at this event.

RACE RESULTS / AWARDS
Computer kiosks will be available at results tent after the race and online at Athlinks.
For those who do not pick up age group or overall awards at the Finish Festival, they will be available for pick-up at race headquarters inside Gold Country Run + Sport after the race.

FINISH FESTIVAL
A Finish Festival featuring live music and a beer garden will take place in the El Dorado Hills Town Center Amphitheater from 8:30 am-11:30 am. All race participants 21 and over are entitled to receive one free beer compliments of Brickyard Counter and Bar. PLEASE HAVE YOUR ID IF YOU WOULD LIKE AN ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE. And, be sure to visit the Marshall Medical Center Health Expo at the Finish Festival and the Altra booth for the latest and greatest in foot-shaped running shoes as well as our other sponsors from the U.S. Army and Dynastride.
